These streets where I roam Once were great This town was thriving There was hustle and bustle The market used to attract people There were cinema's Pubs and department stores We still have a wonderful park And a brilliant theatre Some stunning old buildings With beautiful architecture Today its sad to say Many shops have gone And the nightclubs and bars Are just empty shells Where ghosts meet to trade tales And reminisce about the past Its unlikely that anyone Will choose these streets For a holiday destination There is nothing to attract people here But for me this has always been home This is where I was raised This is the town that made me who I am There is more to this town Than meets the eye If only you chose to take a look This is a multicultural town People live together All races and religions Don’t believe what they tell you to believe If you scratch the surface you will see There is harmony in this town This is my town These are my streets One day this town will thrive again.
