A year without rain

They gathered on the beach with finger food and pimms and listened to CDs by Linkin park and Papa Roach School was over and not just for the summer this time now school was over for good and at the end of the summer they would all go their separate ways some of them would go on to uni some would take up an aprentishship some of them would go and work for the family business they would all be parted for the first time in seven years they all knew that it wasn't goodbye their friendship was too strong for that and even though they wouldn't see each other every day they would always remain close the odds of them not keeping in touch was as likely as a year without rain. they opened a bottle of proseco and toasted their friendship and the end of school before running out into the sea and splashing about soon they would all have to face the trials and tribulations of life that their parents and teachers had been preparing them for. for now though that was still in the future and today was all about having fun and making the most of this final summer together and making it one they would never forget.
