it doesnt really matter

be they political

funny

or from the heart

write them down

or speak them out loud

today is the day to let the words flow

for its national poetry day

so for all you budding John Cooper Clarkes

or Wordsworth wanna bes

dont be afraid you can be a poet

it isnt a dirty word

so put pen to paper

step up to the mic

we all have something to say

get it off your chest

declare your love

make somebody laugh

stand on your soap box

take a stand

try putting the world to rights

if you only do it this once

then do it today
