Mermaids

I’ve been waiting for a sign

An indication to show that you care

I don’t even know whether you are here anymore

You are in the room

I could reach out and touch you

But you seem so far away

You never even talk to me these days

And a picture can tell a thousand lies

Sometimes its difficult keeping sane

At times I feel as though I’m falling apart

Like I’m all at sea

But sooner or later

I guess we are all washed up

Just lost souls stranded on the shore

I wish I could breath beneath the ocean

I want to party with the mermaids

To visit their secret lair

It would be good to be aquatic

I could leave the land behind

Onwards into the abyss.
