Reflections of a love that died

The trail of a plane passed overhead

I closed up the book that I read

I heard laughter on the breeze

The passing pollen made me sneeze

I skimmed a pebble in the stream

Then we had a whipped ice cream

Hand in hand we crossed the park

Somewhere close we heard dogs bark

And on a blanket on the ground

Neither of us made a sound

We swore our love would never fade

And future plans right there were made

You and I forever more

It rained so we ran to the car

And on the radio our song played

And that is where I wish we’d stayed

I would go back there today

A time before you went away...
