To be here with you and this setting sun would be all of my wishes come true because we have been here before in another lifetime when I was a husband and you was a wife but it's different now standing here alone because now I am just a man with only my memories as my companion on the waterfront this water where we dipped our toes

sitting on the bank in summertime. I loved you then do you remember I told you so? I told you I told you and I swear you smiled you smiled and you told me that you loved me too its not my memory playing tricks its not my memory playing tricks its not

Do you remember we kissed? we kissed and I took your hand and we ran through the dunes and jumped in the sand but it's different now as I write these notes these words these musings that you will never read because I wont ever send them to you but maybe I could put them in a bottle and let it get washed out to sea and one day it may get washed up on a shore and you might just be standing there and if you read my notes

Then you will know the score you will know that I'm sorry for the mistakes that I made sorry that I didn't try harder and maybe you'll see that my love was true this love that will last forever and maybe you will smile if ever you read my notes from the waterfront
