Chasing shadows

Chasing shadows on the wall

I was waiting for the fall

Face at the window

Calling my name

I don’t want to play this game

The alarm sounds and my day begins

I’m ready to repent my sins

My self-loathing is my drug of choice

Egged on by my inner voice

More caffeine to dull the pain

The next step will be Novocain

I think its time I found something new

To help escape the ghost of you

But still the whispers are in my head

Echoes of every word you said
