The super humans

They dubbed them the super humans

and on blades and wheels they came

some without limbs, some without sight

but all with enormous strength

they came from every corner of the globe

they came to win

and win is what they did

they won the hearts of the people

they inspired people to dream

they proved that they were first class sports stars

not to be pitied or patronised

they showed that they had the strength to walk tall

now they will be remembered forever

Heroes, role models, ambassadors to a generation

this is sport at its bes

playing to capacity crowds

and we see beyond the disability

all we see is sports stars

and we are on the edge of our seats

long may they reign

these paralympians, these heroes

these men and women who shine

now they have changed the point of view

of all those that couldn't see beyond the disability

those who felt pity and looked away

they dubbed them the super humans

they came from every corner of the globe

they came to win

and win is what they did.
