The flood

I couldn’t be a leader

Because I don’t have the strength to lead

But I’ve always been a believer

And I’ve tried planting the seed

I long for the day when we all see the light

No segregation between black and white

Why must we judge on race and religion?

I truly am tired of all the division

People are people when alls said and done

Where all somebody’s daughter or somebody’s son

Every one of us living on earth

Surely we are all of equal worth

But sports stars and actors earn millions of pounds

With lavish apartments and luxury abound

When half of the world are still living in poverty

It seems to me that life is a lottery

There are those that have and those that have not

Money in the bank or an empty pot

How can there still be so much world debt

I can’t help but worry how much worse things will get

It’s a race against time now so d

on’t waste your vote

Put an X in the box you don’t need a footnote

The power of the people should get the result

So elect into power those that exult

Because right wing parties will just separate

And racist groups will keep brandishing hate

It scares me to think that this is where we are

How the hell did it go this far?

Its time that we stop all this spilling of blood

Maybe together we can stop the flood

But I don t see an end any time soon

And no one in power is changing the tune

But all life is sacred we are what we are

So please put an end to the futile war.
