I don’t think George Osbourn
Has ever shopped in Aldi
I don’t think David Cameron
Has ever stood at the bus stop at 5am
In the rain waiting to go and do a 12 hour shift
For £7.50 an hour
I don’t think Ian Duncan smith
Has ever had to wait two months for a hospital appointment
And I know Jeremy Hunt
Has never had sleepless nights
Worrying about how he was going to pay the electricity bill
I doubt Boris Johnson buys his shoes from a stall on the market
And I don’t think Michael Gove
Ever took a holiday in a battered caravan
Because that was the only holiday he could afford
I don’t think William Hague
Ever had to use yesterdays left overs to make a meal
And I cant imagine that Theresa May
Ever had to move back in with her parents
Because she was overdue with the rent and facing eviction.
I don’t think any of them have any idea
What it is like for the working classes
So how the Hell do they have the audacity to say
That we are all in this together?
Come down from your ivory towers and take a walk
In the real world
Only then….
I don’t believe that Erick Pickles
Ever had to make a choice between eating or heating the room
I don’t think that Liam Fox
Ever had to wear hand me downs
And I’m guessing that Lord Strathclyde and Baroness Neville Jones
Didn’t buy their motors out of the auto trader
And Kenneth Clarke never had to worry about a zero hours contract
So come and take a walk in the real world
The gauntlet is laid down
David. Boris. George
or should I say Gideon? Estimated personnel fortune £4million – Jeremy Hunt, £4.7Million – Lord Strathclyde, £9.6million – William Hague, £4.8million – David Cameron, £3.8million – Theresa May, £1.6million – Boris Johnson, £185 million..
we are not all in it together, never have been never will be.
None of you will ever have a clue what its like in the real world
So don’t tell us that we are all in it together….
