The dye was cast as they fought to stay alive

On the corner of every ally

The prophets collected lost souls

And stored them in porcelain jars

The forgotten youth failed to see

That they didn’t need to earn any stripes

To become adults

There would be many dark days ahead

Not all were going to make it

For some it was going to be a painful ride

But with luck

They would find serenity along the way.

As the last grain of sand falls

And the pendulum grinds to a h

alt

The chosen few

Will be witness to a brand new day

Where the world stands together as one

And we all face the dawn in unison.
