This house feels like a home now And not just a place to stay Its not just somewhere to keep all my stuff And to lay my head at night There is always the smell Of home cooked foodAnd bottles of wine to share There are pictures on the wall Of smiling faces And up beat tunes filling the air There is laughter and chat And a warm happy glow And a cat that came in from the cold Your dressing gown hangs next to My dressing gown on the back of the Bedroom door And two tooth brushes stand side by side In a blue plastic cup on the bathroom sink The cabinet is filled with his and hers smells And lotions and grooming thingamajigsAnd two mugs sit by the kettle Waiting for the days first coffee This is no longer a Batchelor pad Its a home that we can share And they say home is where the heart is And my heart is right here.
