My poem for national pie week steak and kidney with mushy peas gravy and Henderson's relish or Melton Mowbray with crust bread and lashings of home made pickle or puka pies whilst at the footieor with chips in a sea side café and meat and potato like my mum used to make with leaves on top made out of pastry Frey Bentos on a tin or good old ginsters with mash and all of the trimmings pork farms to eat whilst on the goor exceedingly nice ones with apple I've had my fingers in so many pies that I've had my fingers burnt but puff pastry, short crust it doesn't really matter because its just pie in the sky so give me pork pie with nice juicy jelly or meat pie with thick onion gravy but a pie with no crust be it cottage or Sheppard it just doesn't hit the target I will be nice as pie and I'll be your cutie pieI'll even eat humble pie I may even be pie eyed but please give me my slice of the pie
